The Horizon Europe-funded AUTOMAT project has officially launched, marking a major step toward sustainable and automated recycling solutions for batteries and electronic devices. Coordinated by ERP ITALIA SERVIZI, the 36-month initiative brings together 14 industry and academic partners across six European countries, with a shared goal of advancing circular economy principles and reducing raw material waste.

AUTOMAT aims to revolutionize the recycling of end-of-life electronic devices and batteries by developing cutting-edge technologies that enable automated disassembly, sorting, and recovery of valuable materials. Through innovative digital solutions like AI-driven sorting and blockchain-enabled Digital Product Passports (DPP), the project seeks to maximize material recovery rates and increase the efficiency of recycling processes.
